From The Galley The following are recipes we have enjoyed in the OPYC clubhouse. To submit your own, email them to The Ship's Webmaster.
Nat Sturm's 5 Bean Bake The following recipe was requested at our very successful Opening Day on the Bay bar-b-que. It is a result of a couple of brews prepared through the years, and can be adjusted according to party attendees.
Bake covered at 350 for 1 hour, or 2-3 hours on high in crock-pot. Serves 24.
The Korbmeister's Ceviche
This classic south of the border specialty can only be made with very fresh fish. Any flaky whitefish will work; rockfish is a good choice.
Duchess Good Luck Veggie Chili
The following is a recipe which culminated due to the fact that my husband is a vegetarian. However, it is good luck for those who would like to sell your vessel. A pot of this chili was simmering when "Duchess" (1939 39' Matthews previously owned by us) was boarded and purchased in 2004. Ergo, it is a "Good Luck Dish."
Saute onions and green pepper in 1 tbsp butter or oil. Stir in balance of ingredients and simmer... the longer the better. Top with cheddar cheese & green onions.
Guten Appetit!
